Brett Raguse presents donation to Beaudesert State High School Band director, Cindy Arndt
Patrons at the RSL last Saturday night (July 16) were entertained by a very professional performance by the Beaudesert State High Stage Band.
The 20 piece jazz ensemble stage band which was established in 1997 played a wide range of old favourites and new, with an exciting 'big band' feel, emulating bands like the Glenn Miller Big Band from the '40s.
Beaudesert State High School's Head of the Arts, Cassandra Littlemore, who compered the night, said that the band had a large repertoire including Jazz, Funk Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Themes (movies, musicals and television) and Rock.
This was clearly displayed during the evening with the band playing an exciting selection of pieces, putting 110 percent into their performance.
School Music Director, Cindy Arndt, conducted the band and played the clarinet, getting into the swing of the evening.
The band is presently raising funds for a trip to Melbourne later in the year, and is available for bookings at public and private functions.
Donations were made to the band on the evening, with Labor candidate, Brett Raguse presenting a cheque to the Band, towards their upcoming trip.
